Replication files
The replication files for our article “Development of the project-level Women’s Empowerment in Agriculture Index (pro-WEAI)” are now publicly available on Dataverse.
This data package contains baseline data from five GAAP2 projects and Stata.do files necessary for replicating the results of the article. The data include all items needed to calculate pro-WEAI, as well as the basic demographic information (gender and household type) used in the analysis. To execute the replication, use the “read me document” that will take you step-by-step through the process.
Anyone can access these files here. The questionnaire used to collect the data can be found here.
Instructional Guide
This instructional guide was written by researchers from IFPRI to assist practitioners in implementing the pro-WEAI. This report is intended as a guidance piece that points out the most critical issues for consideration and good practices in the survey design, data collection, calculation, and analysis of the pro-WEAI. This guide will only cover the core pro-WEAI and not the pro-WEAI add on modules.
This guide is organized in four parts. Part A provides details on how the indicators are defined and how the 3DE, GPI and pro-WEAI indices are calculated. Part B covers issues related to survey design and data collection; Part C provides instructions on how to construct pro-WEAI using the Stata do files; and, Part D provides guidance on how the pro-WEAI results can be presented, analyzed, and interpreted.
The instructional guide will be available here soon. Watch this space!
